Web Mail Time out Problems
Timeout Problem with iPlanet Messenger Express (Web Mail):
When using certain ISP-provided browsers to access your email account with
Web Mail (iPlanet Messenger Express), you may receive a timeout error
message and be unable to log in. We have had this problem reported with AOL, CompuServ,
the WalMart service, and others.
This is caused by the behavior of AOL's browser (and some other vendor-provided web interfaces), and is not a problem
specific to the jaguar1 Web Mail. At this time, we are unaware
of a method to make the AOL native browser work correctly for
this application.
The following work-around will allow you to access Web Mail:
- Log on to AOL following your normal procedures.
- Start another browser, such as Internet Explorer 6 or
Netscape 7.1 and point it to Web
Mail.
Note: Some older versions of web browsers will not work. Please
make sure you have the most recent version of whatever browser you
are using. |
