Configuring Mozilla Thunderbird
NOTE: These instructions are for Mozilla Thunderbird ver. 1.5.0.2. If you are using an earlier
version of Netscape you should upgrade to Thunderbird. Go to http://www.mozilla.com/ to get Mozilla Thunderbird.

Click "Tools", "Account Settings..."

Click the "Add Account" button

Select "Email account " and
click "Next"
Type your name and your e-mail address in the corresponding input
areas and click "Next"
Select the "IMAP" radio button, type jaguar1.usouthal.edu
in the server name input area, and click "Next"

Type your username in the input area. This is also referred to as
your login and should be all lowercase. It should match what precedes the @ symbol in your e-mail address.
Click "Next"

For "Account Name:" type what you want to name this email
profile. You can use your first name, nickname, email address, etc.
Click "Next"
Click "Finish"

In the tree view on the left of the Account settings window select "Outgoing Server (SMTP)". In the panel on the right, make the following settings
- Click "Add"
- Description: <your name>
- Server Name: jaguar1.usouthal.edu
- Port: 587
- User name and password: checked
- User name: <your user name>
- User secure connection: TLS, if available
- Click "OK"
- Click "Set Default"
